The name of my Cornell box is called destiny, it holds all possibility of a person’s whole life. It is formed by branches that grows out all decisions they made in their life.
No matter which decision they make, the branch will lead them to their destiny.
The idea is based on “Block Universe” which according to the growing block universe theory of time (or the growing block view), the past and present both exist, and the future as yet does not. The present is an objective property, to be compared with a moving spotlight. By the passage of time more of the world comes into being; therefore, the block universe is said to be growing. The growth of the block is supposed to happen in the present, a very thin slice of spacetime, where more of spacetime is continually coming into being. Growing block theory should not be confused with block universe theory, also known as eternalism.
Inspiration

The branching tree reminded me of a "tree of life" offering life options as fruits.

The scene is built unreal, which is not in a real surreal that grows on a land.

I want the creation be a statue-like present, which it read and shows human's destiny. The box is clear and floating in the air.

Process
My Assets List

Create my Materials
Here are the materials I created for this project. I duplicated instants to use different effects.

"Core Material Map"

"Reflection Material"

"Surface Material"
creating material for the animated glow. I followed a tutorial to create this glow that layers several texture sample together with changing UVs.

During the process, I also tried using a tree bark material (I ended up not using it for the final.)

The magic tree is the initial model I started with to create my project.

Lighting
I implemented a cubemap to my sky light, that gives it a dark and surreal light.

For the direct light, I lowered the intensity a lot to darken the scene. And scaled the temperature to a cool color.
