There are two common types of digital inputs: switches and pushbuttons.
The difference between dual throw switches and single throw switches is the different number of contractors. There are also single pole switches and dual pole switches. Dual is to control two circuit using the same mechanism. Pushbuttons and momentary buttons close when holding. And roller switches are pushbuttons with levels. Tactile Switches are soldered to a circuit board. Arcade buttons often have a built-in LED that you can control independently of the switch.
A switch is two conductive materials connecting together. Which means, we can be creative with arranging the conductors.

Questions after lab: in what circumstances, we choose to use a particular types of switch?
